Thug Krew Thursdays: Shon Miller and Jared McDaniel

This Thug Krew Thursday we have Shon Miller answering some questions in reference to him and fellow Thug Krew rider Jared Mcdaniel.  Shon fills us in on their plans for season as they work to kill it and throw out edits as much as possible.  Heres what he had to say

Name: Shon Miller
Age: 23
Sponsors: S4 Optics-Rockstar-Couch Boys-Chronic Tacos-Thug Krew-Roulette Clothing
Home Mountain: Mt High but I live in San Clemente (south orange county) so I drive an hour and a half everyday to the mountain

First off how was the opener of the season for you two?

SM-The opening of the season for Jared and I was a huge relief.  Both of us had been itching to get back to work since "The Patch" melted in early July.  We had just started a solid filming program around then so  the off season was just filled with anticipation to get back to filming as much as possible

The edit you guys made is off the hook, good so cal shreddin, any big plans for filming this year?

SM-Thanks man, I'm stoked you liked the edit.  Its funny cause we put minimal effort into making that video.  Filmed everybody for 3 laps each and edited the footy that night so i could show everyone the finished product the very next day haha.  There's a solid group of about 10 of us that are super fired up to film this year and work hard for our video parts.  Everyone is in a friendly competition to see who can get the best video part.  It's pretty exciting to see everyone stepping it up.  There are gonna be a lot new faces of exposure at Mt. High this year.  It's nice to see a whole new group of unknown riders killing it.  I'm stoked to help out with getting us all exposure.  People like Jared NEED to be noticed.

According to Snowdogg the Thug Krew team will have a movie coming out next year.  Any crazy gnarly spots or places you guys wanna have in your part?

SM-Yeah man, I'm happy to say we ARE putting together a full movie this year.  I'm gonna be doing alot of the filming for it as well as trying to put together a full part myself.  We have some really cool spots picked out to shoot.  We are gonna hit a bunch of street spots in Bear, some top secret Snowdogg spots at Mt. Baldy, and a big road gap in Tahoe.  We are gonna be out hunting for street spots every chance we get.  If it's snowing, it's a safe bet that Thug Krew is in the streets putting it to work.

Being so close as not only teammates but also as friends, how is riding with eachother? Who pushes who the most?

SM-It's realllllllly cool to have someone on the team that is such a good friend.  It's cool because we are both on the same page as far as work ethic goes.  We both want to step it up at all times and we both wanna film as much as possible.  Jared definitely pushes me a lot when we ride, his trick selection and style are pretty out of control.

Any new tricks either of you have in goal to get by end of the year?

SM-I can't think of any specific tricks that I wanna get, I just wanna get as many creative shots for my video section as possible

What trick does Jared do that you think is the most rad?

SM-Jared as a couple tricks i love to watch him do: Nollie back tail 270 out, and his front blunt 270 out.  Both are always buttery and smooth.  Also he does a switch 3 nosepress tail tap switch 3 out.... take a second to comprehend it.... ya, I know.... nuts.

How influenced are you by eachothers riding?

SM-My riding is directly influenced by his.  We ride together everyday so it's hard not to pick up on what each other is doing.  We both just feed off eachother.  Critique each other's style and give one another tips on how to fix our tricks and how to do new ones.  It's always really productive when we ride together.

Whats your funniest moment riding?

SM-HAHAHA the funniest moment riding together would have to be a few days ago.  We were having a friendly film session at Mt. High when some guy cut Jared off on the way to a jump making them both fall pretty hard.  The guy started to try to fight Jared and then hit my camera in the process.  To make a long story short lets just say a UFC heavyweight match broke out and Thug Krew walked away with the Championship belt.  In other words that dude got his ass kicked. idiot. haha

Any last words to say to the Thug Krew fans?

Just stay tuned for weekly video updates from Thug Krew and come BBQ with us at Mt. High sometime.  We are partying in the parking lot daily so come grab some stickers and say hi :)
